Evaluation: Colonel Heron has a stellar service record even among Altered Soldiers. He is a brilliant battle tactician. His skill and bravery has earned him a record number of commendations including a rare training commendation. Colonel Heron is an insightful squad leader. Falcon Squad has accomplished all of its mission ops under his command though some have brought undue attention to its members. [See Major Greven’s and Major Raden’s dossiers]. The results of these problematic missions have been outweighed any disciplinary concerns. Colonel Heron’s greatest asset to the military is his singular skill as a trainer of Altered Soldiers. He has a talent for reaching even those thought destined to be washed out of the program. His cadets typically graduate with high honors and go on to have excellent service records and few disciplinary problems. There are only two cautionary notes worth mentioning. First, is Heron’s arrogance and ambition. These traits serve his missions well, but must be watched carefully that these traits don’t get out of control. The other is Heron’s strict interpretation of his service oath may put his objectives at odds with those of Joint Command. He has instilled this interpretation that Altereds serve the people and the government before all else in each of his cadets and squad members. Given the rocky relationship between the military and the civilian government, containment of Colonel Heron and his squad would have to be taken into consideration should action against the sitting government become necessary. |
